
At Tin Woof Inn, we’re always looking to improve our service offerings, so we’re making some changes that we believe will do just that!
In February, we’ll be changing our name to Tin Woof! Inn Pet Retreat. But this is more than just a name change: It’s just one among several changes that reflect our renewed commitment to better meet the changing needs of our human clients and their beloved pets. These changes also line up with changes being made throughout the animal care industry. They’re designed to provide a safer, healthier and more individualized approach to caring for your pet(s). It also is a response to what we hear from many of our clients, who say they want personalized choices, greater safety precautions, more enrichment experiences for their pet, and to pay only for what they want.
In the most basic terms, you’ll get to choose the type of accommodation your pet will stay in and the level of service he or she will receive. And you’ll pay only for the services you select.
Here’s how it will work for our overnight lodging guests:
- Choose your accommodation: Either Lodge or Cabin.
- Lodge (formerly a regular “Run”)
- Cabin (formerly a “suite”)
- Choose your service package:
- Bronze: Your pet will stay in an indoor/outdoor lodge or cabin and receive simple feedings (meaning two or fewer ingredients) twice a day. This is included with both Lodges and Cabins at no extra cost.
- Silver: Your pet will stay in an indoor/outdoor lodge or cabin and receive complex feedings (meaning more than 2 ingredients twice a day), plus one adventure (formerly playtime). We’ll also administer any number of medications (excluding injections). $7 additional per day for each of your pets.
- Gold: Everything in the Silver package plus one enrichment activity, plus a daily picture update**, plus our new Pet Health Guarantee* (PHG). $14 additional per day for each pet receiving this level of care.
Regardless of the service package you choose, you can add other services like a bath, nail grinding, retail purchases, Pet Health Guarantee or medicine injections for an additional fee.
Your total cost for a stay will now be the base Lodge or Cabin price plus the price of the service package you choose, plus any additional (optional) services.
Tin Woof Inn Pet Retreat’s Day Camp (formerly Day Camp) is also changing to provide a more enrichment-oriented experience. In effect, we are transitioning from: two playtime activities per day (“playtime + playtime”) to one adventure activity and one enrichment activity per day (“adventure + enrichment”). While our Day Camp pricing will remain the same, you now have the option of adding our new Pet Health Guarantee to your Day Camp package for an additional fee.
- Adventures (formerly playtimes) will be provided once per day, either in small groups (less than 5 pets) or solo, based on your pet’s needs.
- Enrichment activities will provide once each day in addition to one adventure activity. Enrichment activities involve physical, sensory, food, cognitive, and social activities that holistically engage the pet’s mind and body. They include things like indoor obstacle courses, lick mats, puzzle games, treat hunts and more.
*Pet Health Guarantee (PHG) covers the cost of unexpected illness or injury while your pet is staying with us, up to $400. This program excludes pre-existing conditions, breed-specific conditions, illness due to expired vaccinations, and bloat. It must be chosen prior to or at check-in. See our website for full details. This program is included in our Gold Package or can be purchased for $15 per stay, per pet. It also can be added to our Day Camp packages (5 day package +$15, 10 day +$25, 15 day +$35).
**Daily picture update: For lodging dogs, if you have purchased our gold package, we will text picture(s) of your pet to you through our Paw Partners software. For day camp clients, we will make every effort to text a picture to clients daily as a part of our regular day camp program.
Unfortunately, starting Jan. 30th, we will no longer be posting adventure/enrichment pictures to our social media pages for 2 reasons:
- Many clients have expressed privacy concerns regarding publicly posted pictures.
- Posted pet pictures push down other valuable and important client information on our pages.
Other changes you will be seeing or noticing:
- A new logo.
- An updated website.
- Remodeled lobbies.
- A fully re-trained team of employees who will be more sensitive than ever to your pet’s needs and more skilled than ever in caring for your pet.
- In both Ashland/Morehead, we are phasing out our Dog Wizard-branded training and instead rolling out the Canine Academy for training. (We will continue to have Dog Wizard training at our Frankfort location.)
To help in this transition, we’re offering a 15% discount to all existing clients who select a Silver or Gold package for stays during February and March 2026.
