Community Service

Over the years, Scott and Gale have made a strong commitment to community service within the pet industry. Gale certified two dogs in pet therapy and visited three local nursing home facilities for many years. We have worked with various local rescue groups and National Australian Shepherd rescue organizations to help foster and save over 100 Australian Shepherds. Scott served as President of Saving the Animals of Rowan (STAR) for two years, and we’ve worked directly with STAR to foster and rehome hundreds of dogs over a five-year period. Scott was chairman of the Tri-County Animal Shelter Committee and did the design work on the new Tri-County Shelter. He also helped write the grant that secured the $150,000 to build the new shelter. Beginning in 2016, he started working with the Boyd County Fiscal Court and created the design of the new 5,000-square-foot animal shelter scheduled to open in 2019. We were proud to work with the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce and provided input and donated funds for the completion of the Rowan County Dog Park which opened in 2017.
